THE ARTIST’S EYE - EVENT AT SAVED NY
We had a fabulous evening at SAVED in the West Village to Preview The Artist’s Eye. Thank you to Sean McNanney and the entire SAVED team as well as all of our guests. It was a marvelous evening and a feast for the eyes!
I’m so proud of this collection and touched by the interest so many of you have expressed in the idea and the conversations that we’ve shared. I’ll be diving into the featured artist and the process behind each piece on Instagram for Women’s History Month—please join me on the gram to learn more!
A modern reframing of the Lover’s Eye–a highly intimate historical form of portraiture–to inspire contemporary conversation about art history and how, and for whom, it is recorded.
Each one-of-a-kind portrait is painted by London-based miniaturist Irene Owens and set in an antique gold and gemstone pin.
The collection includes portraits of Lavinia Fontana, Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun, Berthe Morisot, Willie “Ma Willie” Abrams, Anni Albers, Frida Kahlo, Lee Krasner, Françoise Gilot,
The intention is to spark conversation from this initial list of women artists whose artistic pursuits were limited by their status as women and whose careers were often overshadowed by the male artists in their lives.
